This year’s retreat was awesomely amazing. I was super excited for it because I knew that God was going to do something really great and I went with great expectations. During the retreat, there weren’t any games or shopping but I still enjoyed it lots. In fact, I enjoyed it even more. It really is time to get serious with God. Many received words and visions from God. Some even received the gift of speaking in tongues! Praise God!
Every single day you can see God breaking through many hearts and it is just amazing. On Thursday morning, it was receiving the spiritual gifts that God wanted to give to us. I was singing that day and when Pastor Ronald asked the leaders to go to the altar to be prayed for first, I did not know if I should go because I was supposed to be singing and I did not go in the end.
I waited very long for my turn, almost everyone else was prayed for already except me. I was super upset and disappointed because I prayed to God that I didn’t want Him to pass me by. In the end, Pastor Kieran came to pray for me. By then, I got tired and gave up waiting upon the Lord. I really regretted what I did because when Pastor Kieran prayed for me, he said I need to keep pressing in for breakthrough. But I didn’t and I didn’t know my spiritual gifts too.
However, the amazing thing was before I went to bed that night, Adora messaged me to ask me if there was anything she could pray for me. So I asked her what did the Lord impressed on her heart to pray for me for and she said perseverance and talents of touching people. I was so blessed after reading it. I was like “Woah! God is indeed great. He really did not pass me by.” *beams*
I really thank God for this retreat. I pray for everyone who went that this retreat will not just be a temporary spiritual high. Keep praying and be renewed in Christ daily. And I pray that those who did not go for the retreat too. Don’t be too discouraged, God can work through your daily lives too; just surrender your all to Him. I finally understand what it means by "Dying to yourself daily then you will be alive in Christ." Ask God to keep renewing your mind with Godly thoughts. With God, all things are possible!
